Severe Weather Policy Update

Purpose: To ensure the safety of our athletes, families, and staff during severe weather events, while maintaining clear communication regarding class cancellations and gym closures.

Policy: GymSport operates independently of local school district closures. Decisions regarding closures or delays due to severe weather will be based on current and forecasted conditions, with the safety of all participants as the primary concern.

Notification Process:

• A decision regarding closures or delays will be made at least 3 hours prior to the start of scheduled classes.
• Families will be notified through the following channels:
  • Push notifications via the GymSport app
  • An announcement on the GymSport website

Family Responsibilities:

• Ensure that contact information in the GymSport app is up-to-date to receive timely notifications.
• Check the app or website for updates during inclement weather.

Additional Notes:

• No refunds or makeup classes will be provided for weather-related closures unless otherwise specified.
• Families should use their discretion when deciding whether to travel to the gym during severe weather if classes remain open.

Implementation: This policy is effective immediately and applies to all GymSport classes, events, and activities.
